How it works

Three steps.

  1. Write

    Write your message and add a photo or a voice note. Every capsule has an opening theme: crystal, scratch card, wax seal and more.

  2. Seal

    Pick when it opens. Send it straight to someone you follow each other with, or share a link. Until then the recipient only sees who it is from and the countdown.

  3. Hold it

    When the time comes their phone lets them know. They open the capsule with the theme’s gesture, by hand: crack, scratch, blow, shake.

Good questions.

Can the recipient open a capsule without the app?

No. A capsule opens only in the app, when its time comes. The link takes the recipient to the app, or to install it. Before the capsule opens, the page shows only the sender’s name, the countdown and the theme; the message itself is never shown on the web page.

Can I change my mind after sending?

Before the capsule opens you can cancel it or change its date. Once it has opened, the capsule belongs to the recipient and cannot be taken back.

How far ahead can I leave a capsule?

On the free plan the opening time is between 5 minutes and 7 days from now. With Premium it can wait up to 10 years.

Is it free?

Basic use is free. On the free plan, Explore shows a “Sponsored” ad at most once every 4 cards. Optional Premium adds longer messages, more photos, longer voice notes, every theme and an ad-free Explore.

Who can use it?

You must be at least 13. Chat opens only between people who follow each other and are both 18 or over.

If a notification does not arrive, is my capsule lost?

No. A notification is a help; opening does not depend on it. When you open the app, the capsule is waiting.

Which phones does it work on?

It works on iPhone and Android phones. When the app is live in a store, the download links appear on this page.
